BioGENEius Challenges

The BioGENEius Challenge is the premier competition for high school students that recognizes outstanding research in biotechnology. It promotes excellence and enables students to continue research in biotechnology and design an original independent research project. Students have the opportunity to apply and compete for top honors in the Global Healthcare Challenge (Medical Biotechnology), the Global Sustainability Challenge (Agricultural Biotechnology) or the Global Environment Challenge (Industrial/Environmental Biotechnology.) There are 3 stages to the competition.

1. At Large/Local Challenges: Click here to find your local Challenge.

2. U.S. National Challenge – If you are selected as a winner are the at-large/state level,
   you proceed to the national challenge at the BIO Convention.

3. International Challenge – If you are selected as a winner of the national challenge at
   the BIO Convention, you move on to the international challenge.

We are pleased to announce the BioGENEius Challenges have expanded into three new
Challenge tracks, giving students more opportunities than ever before to apply, earn
recognition and win awards for their projects:

• The Global Healthcare Challenge in medical biotechnology

• The Global Sustainability Challenge in agricultural biotechnology

• The Global Environment Challenge in industrial/environmental biotechnology
